Mastering the Mythic: Your Guide to the Fortnite Infinity Blade

The Infinity Blade is one of the most legendary and controversial weapons in Fortnite history. Originally introduced in Chapter 1, Season 7, it has recently made a "glory days" return in Fortnite OG (January 2026).

Whether you've found it at Polar Peak or are facing off against its wielder, here is how to master the blade.

Where to Find It

In the standard Battle Royale (OG Mode), there is only one Infinity Blade per match.

  • Location: The center of the Polar Peak courtyard.
  • How to Claim: You must interact with the sword (hold the interact button for about 5 seconds) to pull it from the stone.
  • Note: If the wielder is eliminated, they will drop the sword, and its location will be marked by a bright blue beam of light reaching into the sky.

Moveset and Controls

The blade replaces your entire inventory. You cannot carry guns, heals, or utility items while holding it.

Passive Buffs (The "Boss" Stats)

Picking up the Infinity Blade transforms you into a mini-boss with significantly boosted survival stats:

  • HP & Shield Boost: Your max Health and Shield both increase to 200, giving you a total of 400 HP.
  • Regeneration: You passively heal 1 HP/Shield per second until you are at full strength.
  • Siphon: Every time you eliminate an opponent, you instantly gain 50 HP/Shield.
  • Insta-Heal: The moment you pull the sword from the stone, you are instantly granted full health and shields.

The Trade-offs (How to Stay Alive)

As powerful as the blade is, it has two major weaknesses that skilled players will exploit:

  1. No Building: You cannot build structures or harvest materials while holding the blade. You are reliant on your 400 HP and your mobility to avoid fire.

  2. No Ranged Attacks: You are completely "all-in." If someone is shooting at you from a distance with an Assault Rifle or Sniper, your only options are to leap toward them or hide.

Pro Tips for Success

  • The "Leap-Frog" Strategy: Never run in a straight line. Use the Leap Attack constantly to close the distance or to escape. The leap also destroys buildings, so you can dive directly into an enemy's 1x1 box to surprise them.
  • Passive Healing: If you’re low on health after a fight, find a safe spot behind a hill. Your 1 HP per second regeneration is slow, but it’s infinite.
  • Watch for Balloons: In the current OG meta, players often use Balloons to stay high in the air where the sword can't reach them. If you see an aerial enemy, try to leap to a higher mountain to get within striking distance.
