Silent Hill f: A Comprehensive Guide to All Omamori Locations and Effects

In the haunting world of Silent Hill f, survival isn't just about avoiding grotesque monsters and solving mind-bending puzzles—it's also about harnessing the spiritual power of Omamori. These small, Japanese amulets are a central mechanic, providing Hinako with crucial passive buffs that can mean the difference between life and death.

Unlike traditional health or stamina upgrades, Omamori are a customizable layer of strategy. You can unlock up to three equip slots, allowing you to create a synergistic build that complements your playstyle. Whether you prefer to be a tank, a stealthy dodger, or a high-damage brawler, there's an Omamori combination for you.

This guide will break down everything you need to know about Omamori, from how to acquire them to a complete list of their locations and effects.

How to Obtain Omamori

There are two primary ways to acquire Omamori in Silent Hill f:

  1. Hokora Shrine Draws: At the small, fox-adorned shrines (Hokora) where you save your game, you have the option to "Draw Omamori." This costs Faith, the game's currency earned from offering items. The cost starts at a low amount but increases with each draw, eventually capping at 1,000 Faith. The Omamori you receive from these draws are randomized, but you'll never get a duplicate until you have all 23.

  2. Hidden in the World: The more powerful and specialized Omamori are found in fixed locations throughout the game. These "Unique Omamori" are often tied to specific chapters, side puzzles, or hidden areas. Some are even exclusive to a New Game+ run, where new paths and secrets become accessible.

A Note on Upgrades

Before you can equip more than one Omamori, you'll need to unlock additional slots. This is done at a Hokora shrine by using one Ema (a wooden prayer tablet) and a significant amount of Faith. Since Ema are a limited resource, it's wise to prioritize unlocking these slots, as the benefits of a full Omamori loadout are substantial.

Omamori Locations and Effects

Omamori provide a wide range of buffs, from simple stat boosts to more complex, situational effects. Here is a breakdown of some of the most notable Omamori and where to find them.

Unique Omamori (First Playthrough)

- Whale: Prevents normal enemy attacks from interrupting you while using a healing item.

Location: Found very early in the game. After the initial fog monster attack, you'll enter a house. Find the key for the back door, go down the exterior ladder, and the Omamori is near the wall.

- Cat: Greatly reduces the damage taken when performing a dodge.

Location: Located in the Shrine Path where you must solve the Shrine Vault puzzle. Look for an Ema board in the southwestern part of the area and interact with the Ema that has an orange cat on a blue background. The Omamori is on its back.

- Pine: Increases your maximum health.

Location: On the way to Rinko's House, enter the doctor's house via a ladder on the back. Obtain a key from a downstairs box to unlock a drawer upstairs, and the Omamori will be inside.

- Wolf: Deals additional damage with high durability weapons.

Location: In the middle school, find the locker with the initials "TT" and enter the combination 377.

- Bull: Greatly reduces stamina consumption for heavy and charged attacks.

Location: During the Worship Hall sequence, after solving the rotating light puzzle, return to the locker room. A previously locked door in the back will now be open, leading to the Omamori.

- Spider: Greatly reduces weapon durability consumption from performing light attacks.

Location: A more involved fetch quest. First, find a key at the shrine in the northern part of the farm fields. Then, take this key back to Sakuko's house in the southwestern part of town and use it to open her mailbox.

Crow: Slightly restores health after defeating an enemy.

Location: After the ritual sequence where you gain the new arm, return to the main hall. You can now open a metal door with a small gap in the frame in the northwest corner of the first floor. The Omamori is inside.

Suzuran: Makes perfect dodges easier to perform.

Location: Tucked away in a small house near a blocked path on the way down the mountain from Shu's house.

Unique Omamori (New Game+ Exclusive)

- Rabbit: After a perfect dodge, the next heavy attack will be more powerful at the cost of some stamina.

Location: In the middle school exterior, you can now access a new room by climbing through a window on the western side where you hear a crackling radio.

- Swallow: Found in the western part of the Worship Hall, behind a door that opens after you've unlocked the Inari/Oinari boxes.

- Shrew Mole: When in a near-death state, dodging no longer consumes stamina.

Location: Hidden near a grotesque, eyeball-covered tree in a new southeast section of the Otherworld.

Regular Omamori (Hokora Shrine Draws)

These Omamori are drawn randomly from the shrines. Their effects are often more straightforward than the unique ones, but they are still incredibly useful.

- Clam: Decreases enemy line of sight.

- Plum: Increases maximum stamina.

- Bamboo: Increases healing from restorative items.

- Sakura: Increases the amount of sanity gained from restorative items.

- Owl: Greatly decreases sanity consumption when using Focus.

- Boar: Restores a small amount of stamina when you defeat an enemy.

- Turtle: Makes you resistant to being interrupted by enemy attacks.

The Omamori system in Silent Hill f is a fantastic addition that allows for a deeper level of customization and strategy. By hunting down the hidden unique Omamori and carefully drawing the regular ones, you can tailor Hinako's abilities to your preferred style and stand a better chance of surviving the horrors that lie ahead.
